MDM – Master Data Management
MDM stands for Master Data Management. MDM refers to all activities in dealing with master data within a company. Master data is basic information about objects (e.g. articles, customers, suppliers, etc.) that are relevant for the company. Especially in larger companies, master data is kept redundantly in the respective systems of the different departments. Synchronising this data etc. involves a lot of effort. With the help of MDM, an increase in data quality and the consistency of data across system boundaries should be achieved.
