Best-of-Breed

With the “Best-of-Breed” approach, the best possible solution is used for each area of application in order to cover a defined overall scenario. It can happen that the number of solutions increases with the number of different software manufacturers.
The advantage of this approach is that a software solution designed and specialised for each area of application is used. Another advantage is a low “vendor lock”, as individual software solutions can be exchanged more quickly and therefore the dependence on one manufacturer is reduced.
