A shortlist is a shorter selection list that has been created by shortening a longlist. The shortlist is an intermediate result in the selection process and refers to the narrower selection of different things, such as software solutions. These are determined from an initial shortlist or longer list of all candidates. Usually, a shortlist consists of no more than three candidates.
